Woodford Supports Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Efforts

The recent storms that ripped through much of western Kentucky and surrounding areas have caused catastrophic damage for so many. Our hearts are with all those affected by these devastating tornadoes.

This week, Woodford delivered a truckload of bottled water to the Benton County, KY, Emergency Operations Center for distribution to hard-hit areas.

In addition to Woodford, which provided the truck, driver, and logistical services, the effort included several others including:

  • The Kentucky Petroleum Marketers Association (KPMA), providing key logistical information as to where the greatest need was,
  • Doss Fuelco and Murphy Mills Springs of Harlan, KY, providing the water from their Cumberland Gap spring system, and
  • Coca-Cola Bottling of Middlesboro, KY, providing bottling and packaging of the water.

Woodford Transport Driver Fred Ratzer manned the truck, which hauled a total of 30 pallets, or 1,440 cases of water, 350 miles from Middlesboro to Benton, KY.

If you would like to help with donations for the relief efforts, KY Gov. Andy Beshear has established the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the tornadoes.
