Safety

Safe, On-time Materials Handling Is An Integral Part Of Our Service

SAFETY: IT’S JUST GOOD BUSINESS

At Woodford Oil Company, no aspect of business is more important than ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and the local communities where we operate. We believe that most accidents can be prevented and that safety is everyone’s responsibility, from management, to dispatcher, to driver.

To foster this philosophy, Woodford has created a Safety Committee made up of key managers and staff. The Safety Committee meets regularly to discuss safety-related issues, and to develop and implement safety training for management and staff. The Safety Committee focuses not only on ensuring our safety philosophy is followed on the job, but also motivates employees to act safely at all times and in all aspects of their lives (work, home, and everywhere in between).

We have regularly scheduled field and classroom training sessions on all relevant safety standards, such as spill prevention, hazardous materials (HazMat) security, confined space entry, operating powered industrial lift trucks, and hazard communication (HazCom). We also bring in professionals from the insurance and risk management industries to discuss important safety topics and provide insight on trends in safety and responsibility in the workplace.

Our safety program is compliant with all federal, state and local regulations, including those of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements for general industry.

Through consistent application of our safety philosophy, we actively promote a work environment that contributes to the positive attitudes and safe practices of all employees. We firmly believe this approach translates into superior performance for our customers. And that means safety is not just good policy, it’s good business.
